Position Summary


As the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, PCC serves nearly 73,000 full-time and part-time students. Four comprehensive campuses, eight centers and dozens of independent locations throughout the community offer courses and provide student services. The Sylvania Campus is PCC’s largest and oldest campus, which is home to nearly 33,000 students, approximately 1,300 employees and the cutting-edge MakerLab. The campus also boasts the college’s nursing, dental assisting and automotive service technology departments.

We are looking for a leader who brings a holistic student-centered approach and demonstrates the ability to build and sustain a culture of collaboration and inclusion, in support of equitable student success. Under the direction of the Sylvania Dean of Students this position has significant responsibility in planning, organizing, and managing student services associated with academic advising, outreach/admissions, information, testing, student employment, cooperative education, orientation, career planning, academic support, and back up for student discipline and student behavioral intervention.

  • Experience managing elevated situations and interacting with student conduct issues involving multiple stakeholders


Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).


Master’s Degree in student affairs, student personnel administration, education, educational leadership, public administration, or other related field.

Three years of experience leading and coordinating the work of other staff, preparing and monitoring budgets, and performing program planning and administrative work in the area of student services or student support programs in higher education



Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working in a community college and/or with community college students

  • Experience interrupting systems of oppression through student affairs work

  • Experience supervising, coaching, or supporting academic advising

  • Demonstrated experience with change leadership

  • Knowledge of trauma informed care and crisis management

  • Knowledge of Legal/Regulatory issues in Higher Education (i.e Title IX, FERPA, Confidentiality, & Non Discrimination & Harassment, & ADA)


Position Grade


Starting Salary Expectations

Minimum $81,298 to range mid-point of $99,591. Placement generally will not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. (Full Range is $81,298 to $117,882)

PCC currently fully funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. After one year of management or confidential service, PCC also provides a 2% contribution to a 403(b) account for eligible management and confidential personnel. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement. 

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions. 

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees) 
- 14.67 hours of vacation leave per month 
- 1 day of sick leave per month 
- 11 holidays 
- 3 additional personal leave days per year

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding. Frequent walking, standing, or sitting may be required. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
