JOB PURPOSE:

The University of Wyoming (UW) invites applications for the position of Dean of the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing (FWWSON), with a start date of July 1, 2019. The position will be filled at the Professor rank. This position is a full-time, 12-month appointment. We are seeking a dean who is committed to continuing our tradition of excellence in educating undergraduate and graduate nurses; contributing to the science, research, and practice of nursing; and serving the University of Wyoming, as well as the nursing community, the nursing education community, and the people in the frontier state of Wyoming.

The FWWSON, housed within the College of Health Sciences, has a strong record of research and scholarship, including collaborative research with governmental organizations and other UW departments. The school offers traditional, accelerated, and RN to BSN undergraduate, MS, and DNP programs enrolling approximately 400 undergraduate and 60 graduate students. Nursing education is delivered via on-campus, distance, and hybrid course formats. For more information about the FWWSON, visit www.uwyo.edu/nursing.

UW is the state's only public provider of baccalaureate and graduate education and is a Carnegie research-doctoral extensive institution. UW combines major university benefits and small school advantages, offering a world-class education in the small community of Laramie, Wyoming. With a student enrollment of about 13,000, the UW main campus, located near the beautiful Snowy Range of the Rocky Mountains, is only two hours from Denver and many wonderful destinations for four-season outdoor adventure. Plenty of sunshine and year-round beauty complement the university atmosphere, arts and culture, and lively downtown of Laramie (population 32,000), making it a terrific place to live and work.

The University of Wyoming invites diverse applicants to consider our employment opportunities. We are also especially interested in candidates who have experience working with diverse populations and/or diverse initiatives.
