• The Associate Dean reports directly to the Dean, assisting the Dean in managing daily operations in the school; assisting faculty and students in resolving issues and concerns including curriculum matters, transfer of credits, class scheduling, registration, academic advising, graduation; and coordinating other school matters.
• The Associate Dean represents the school in the absence of the Dean, assists with management and leadership of the school, carries out administrative duties such as preparing the annual schedule of classes and catalog text, collaborates with the Registrar and other Associate Deans to develop and implement policy, and collaborates with the Dean and others to address trends and innovations in liberal arts education and the disciplines within their school.
Minimum Qualifications
• Doctorate in a business related discipline (also including IT, Economics, and Healthcare Management).
Preferred Qualifications
• A record of progressive experience in academic administration (such as department chair, assistant dean, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of trends and innovations in liberal arts education and the disciplines within the SBT
• Excellent managerial and oral and written communication skills
• Experience using data to improve processes
• An understanding of, and affinity for, Marymount’s mission, vision, and values, including its Catholic identity
