Minimum Experience Required:
At least 10 years in higher education within the discipline of nursing, with experience in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs, with a record of strong academic accomplishments, progressive administrative and leadership experience, and qualification for tenure within the College are required.
Minimum Education Required:
An earned research-based doctorate from a regionally accredited university in the discipline of Nursing.
Minimum Licenses Required:
Successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for registered nurse licensure in the state of Louisiana.
Other Minimum Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with department heads, faculty, staff, deans from other colleges, the Provost, the President, and other administrators at all levels within the college and university.
Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and success with regulatory bodies and accrediting bodies.
Demonstrated knowledge of program development and curriculum building.
Record of excellence in teaching, research/scholarship, and service within the College.
Other Preferred Requirements:

-Academic accomplishment: distinguished academic accomplishments qualifying the Dean for the rank of tenured professor.
-Academic leadership: demonstrated success in developing and maintaining excellence in academic programming and research, including experience with accrediting agencies and licensing boards; demonstrated innovation in instructional methods; experience in strategic planning and shared governance.
-Management experience: expertise in managing personnel and conflict.
-Financial expertise: experience with managing complex budgets and resources; experience in fundraising with a vision toward innovative opportunities that benefit the college.
-Communication skills: the ability to respectfully and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, students, other members of the administrative team, and outside constituents to clearly articulate the mission, vision, needs, and accomplishments of the College.
-Networking and team-building skill: the ability to work internally and externally to develop relationships and partnerships with other academic institutions, healthcare facilities, and businesses to advance the teaching, clinical, and research needs of the College.
-Commitment to diversity: the ability to work with diverse colleagues, students, and populations; a commitment to support diversity initiatives that address awareness, attitude, knowledge, and skills leading to cultural competence.
