Job Description Summary

The Assistant to the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies for the Traditional Undergraduate Program in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences assists the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies in the coordination of activities to facilitate successful academic delivery.

Responsibilities

Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

-Create, plan, and track course and clinical schedule for the Undergraduate (UG) program. Collaborate with Assistant Dean regarding faculty assignments. Assist the UG administrative assistant with information regarding clinical placement requests. Access information related to traditional and accelerated undergraduate student admission, progression, retention and graduation. Monitor students for successful completion of requirements for progression and graduation (review transcripts for GPA, science grades, repeat courses, pre-requisite coursework). Generate and maintain College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) class list. Monitor UG student files.
-Generate final exam schedule and distribute
-Collaborate with Traditional Undergraduate Assistant Dean, Retention Coordinator, and Data Coordinator to maintain records and databases.
-Set advising dates, generate advising lists and distribute to faculty, expedite the advising process and implement the course registration process. Assign CRNnumbers, generate PIN numbers. Maintain internal course registration process (clipboard), compare to Banner class list for accuracy. Assist with registering students for clinical sections (CRN’s).
-Collaborate with the Retention Coordinator to facilitate NCLEX-RN application process (fingerprinting, NCLEX info packets, generate roster), Mail NCLEXdocuments to Continental Testing. Meet with students at SOAR for advisement. Download documentation from SLATE (application, ACT/SAT scores, transcripts, etc.) to prepare for SOAR. Prepare and complete advising sheet for each transfer student and incoming freshman prior to SOAR.
-Work with Retention Coordinator, Center for Academic Success and Enrichment (CASE) and faculty to schedule exams through CASE/send confirmation to Students. Drop off and pick up exams at CASE, and distribute to appropriate faculty. -Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean of the Department of Undergraduate Studies

Minimum Qualifications

Three to five (3 – 5) years experience in nursing and/or academic fields preferred in advisor/counselor and/or administrative/teaching functions. Excellent written and oral communication, facilitation, organization and team skills required. Excellent computer skills required; prefer spreadsheet and/or database management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree preferred.
