Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Manager of Events, Office of the Dean in the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, administers the school’s signature on- and off-campus events, and key internal events. The position is responsible for:
- event and program research, planning, and execution;
- customer service and coordination with both internal and external constituencies, and;
- analyzing, ordering and assessing school merchandise (eg: promotional items).

Bachelor’s degree required.
A minimum of six years of experience in providing operations, events, communications, budgetary, and/or administrative support in a complex and dynamic environment.

- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality of data and information.
- Established a network of connections to assist in executing events
Job RisksNot Applicable to This Position
This position requires some lifting of heavy boxes and materials (25-50lbs), transport of equipment, walking around sections of the building/event facility, and other expected hands-on special event-related activities. Significant evening and weekend hours.
Some work will be performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard equipment and keyboards.
